Imagine more than 270 street musicians in one city during one day. 10 hour of non-stop music and if that's not enough - turn round into local club and go home with sunrise.

Small but already well known country. Long history and rich culture - Lithuania is famous not only for this but also for dedication to basketball and good bear. But music was and still is the thing that brings people together.

The third edition of Street music day - you had to be there. Despite world is strugling financial crisis but on the 2nd of May you couldn't say that. It wasn't about the money - it was all about the music. There's not so many free festival around the globe but Street music day can bravely join that small club.

Finally Old town was full of local people. During recent five year tourist occupied Old town and it's areas leaving no place for locals. But not on this day. Happy faces and endless music ocean - for us by us. Probably only on this day people become more friendly. Suddenly nobody is runing anywhere. Musicians cooperates with cafes to get electricity and to make show for the crowd. Only on this day you suddenly feel like you are in Amsterdam.

No matter what kind of music you like - everything could be found within a short walking distance. You could enjoy folk in narrow Old town street or listen to rock in front of cozy shop. Even dance music had a go during the day. To sum up - from bottom to top. And everything completely free!

But will any of the unknown bands hit the top? Without a doubt Street music day is your chance to show your skills and to get attention. Slowly build your fan base and get support. But another questions comes up - is there any more place in already overcrowded market?

Wherever you live - street music is everywhere. It's not dead but it lost it's soul. On the top of all this - Street music day brings everything back into places.
