Stuart Cable, the Former Drummer of the Stereophonics Has Been Found Dead in Llwydcoed South Wales
Stuart Cable was found dead at his home in Llwydcoed South Wales at around 5:30am BST on Monday June 7. Police have not announced the cause of death but they have said there are no suspicious circumstances.
According to the BBC, Cable had been drinking at his local pub on Sunday night and he came back to his home with some friends. It is not known what happened after this, but some bottles of alcohol were removed from his home this morning. An autopsy will be carried out soon.
Stuart Cable started the Stereophonics with bassist Richard Jones and singer Kelly Jones in 1992 and Jones expressed his shock at Cable's death on Monday morning. He said that Cable had told him that he never expected to reach his 40th birthday, which he celebrated two weeks ago. They were supposed to meet up the day that Cable died.
After being fired from the Stereophonics Cable still kept in touch with Jones who had gone home to South Wales for his uncle's funeral. He had told Cable he would live to see 100.
"And that's one of the last things we said to each other, which is quite strange really. But he was just a character, wasn't he?"
Cable's brother had called Jones at around 8:30am on Monday to tell him the sad news.
[Cable] recently formed a new band, Killing for Company, and worked as a broadcaster, with a show on BBC Radio Wales.
He leaves behind a young son and a girlfriend.

Tributes here should be about the talented man Stuart was and what a loss this is to the music industry - he didn't hide his demons he publicly battled with them and this should be praised. A sad day for Wales and an even sadder day for his girlfriend, 2 children, mum, friends and bandmates who had an exciting future ahead. Heaven must be rockin now!
