A Sucessful Trifecta For Former Playboy Model Donna Spangler

Playboy model Donna Spangler is more than a pretty blond and is gaining recognition as one of the busiest independent film producers in Beverly Hills. Ms Spangler has produced and starred in three independent films that have been selected into the NY International film and Video Festival in Los Angeles. The much anticipated West coast premiere of her campy sci fi comedy SPACE GIRLS IN BEVERLY HILLS  was held on July 31 at the Regency Fairfax Cinema and had standing room only.  Celebrity guests such as  Judd Nelson, Tracy Dali, Juli Strain and others attended the packed screening.  Directly following the screening there was an after party at the VIP lounge of Hollywood hotspot “Halo”. Space Girls also stars B Movie Queen Julie Strain ( Baywatch, Beverly Hill Cop 3, ), Jill Noel aka Jill st. Marks (Bay watch), Allie Moss ( Austin Powers, Sabertooth)  and Tim Colceri ( Full Metal Jacket, Babylon 5).

Donna Spangler’s second project is the TV documentary, SOCIAL-LIGHTS 90210 premierd on August 5 at 8:15 p.m. “Social-Lights 90210” focuses on the Beverly Hills lifestyle of Donna and her girl friend Italian socialite Sabrina A. Parisi  who is known as the Paris Hilton of Italy and follows their fabulous daily lives and red carpet adventures. Celebrity guests attended such as cast members from Bold and Beautiful including Ronn Moss and his fieonce Devin Devasquez and others.   Directly following there was an exclusive party at Donna's home in Beverly Hills.


 Donna Spangler third project, is a short drama called TWO CIRCLES IN BEVERLY HILLS which contrasts Donna’s life as a socialite compared with the life of a homeless woman and was screened on the closing night of the festival on Aug 6 2009. This is the more serious of the films as it’s a less frivolous look at lifestyles in Beverly Hills and draws to the attention to the dramatic difference of income of women living in the same area. Donna acted and was executive producer.  Hareendra Samarasekera wrote and Produced and edited the movie.
 According to Donna, “All the films have one thing in common -- Beverly Hills  Its an honor to be showcasing my films about the town I live work and play in “!”
 
Executive Director of the New York International Independent Film and Video festival (NYIIFVF) Stuart Alson says “I’m impressed by Donna Spanglers ability to be a prolific producer with 3 different and original projects. I enjoyed Space girls allot which is a fun and campy retro sci-fi comedy ”  NYIIFVF  is recognized as the largest independent film event in the world. Past festivals have included the work of Calista Flockhart, Cameron Diaz, Eva Herzigova, Guy Pearce, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Tippi Hedren, Willem Dafoe and Vin Diesel.
Donna Spangler is not just any producer. Besides living in Beverly Hills, she is an author of the best selling novel “How to get a rich man the Princess Formula”, actress, and a former playboy model. Her life has been showcased as part of the BBC's “Secret Map of Hollywood” along with other socialites such as Paris Hilton on VH1.
Donna Spangler grew up in the heart of Hollywood and early on realized her dream of creating projects for the entertainment industry. She started out in modeling, and then progressed to acting. Later, she started producing for a public access channel, and was a pioneer on the Internet – over 11 years ago, before webisodes were common place, she was the first female to produce Internet shows. She wrote, produced, directed, performed in, edited, and converted her first online show called SCANDALS. She has formed her own company Boonie Productions and been called a female version of Roger Corman by working her movie magic with micro budgets, and using her Beverly Hills home as a studio, as well as every corner and room on the property as backdrops for her creative projects.
