The 2010 Sundance Film Festival is quickly approaching with directors and actors preparing to debut their latest films for critics and public festival goers alike. The film festival takes place in Park City, Utah at the end of January spanning the 21-31 of the month. Sundance is a big deal for many film makers and actors as it creates what is often the first forum for feedback on their finished products. Critics' responses and feedback from festival goers often generates Oscar buzz for noteworthy films and provides a strong indication of how well a film will do if it debuts nation-wide later in the year.

This year there are many eagerly anticipated films scheduled for the 10 day festival during which up to 200 films are screened. A complete list of films is available on the Sundance website through their 2010 Sundance Film Guide. The Film Guide provides a short preview of each film and who was involved in its production. This allows users to browse through a list of Featured Films and view Festival Schedules.

Each year the Sundance Film Festival selects 200 films for exhibition from more than 9,000 submissions. More than 50,000 people attend screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah. In addition to discovering filmmaking's newest talent through the Festival's program of documentary, dramatic, and short films,

The Audience Buzz section of the Sundance film guide currently features films such as HOWL (Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman), Welcome To The Rileys (Jake Scott), and The Runaways (Floria Sigismond). Twilight's leading actress Kristen Stewart has leading roles in both Welcome To The Rileys and The Runaways, both of which are expected to be very well received at the festival. Stewart acts alongside Dakota Fanning in The Runaways in which Stewart portrays rocker icon Joan Jett and Fanning plays the part of fellow Runaways band mate Cherie Currie.

Festival goers flock to Sundance each year for both the opportunity to see a new film before it is widely released (if at all), and for the chance to do a bit of celebrity spotting. Festival attendees have the opportunity to attend live music events and panel discussions with film makers and industry professionals. This kind of festival community provides a great chance for independent and indie films to gain press and exposure right at the beginning of the year. Check out the Sundance website for festival tickets, film guides, and much more.
