Super 8 Teaser Trailer Attached to Iron Man 2

Super 8 has nothing to do with the India vs. Australia cricket match. Rather, Super 8 is J.J.Abrams' newest film since the Star Trek reboot. A Super 8 teaser trailer will show ahead of Iron Man 2, on general release May 7.

Universal, which is releasing Super 8, didn't even admit the project existed until May 6, so fan speculation has run wild, much as it did for Cloverfield. Indeed, it was widely believed that Super 8 would be a Cloverfield sequel, but that is not the case. Despite the DIY suggestion of the title, J.J. Abrams' latest film will be shot traditionally, and not with puke-inducing handheld cinematography.

J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg will produce, and principal photography begins in Autumn 2010 for a 2011 release.

A trailer for "Super 8" is attached to Par's "Iron Man 2," which opened at 12:01 a.m. today. It hints that the movie has alien elements, bearing the warning: "In 1979, the U.S. Air Force closed a section of Area 51. All the materials were to be a transported to a secure facility in Ohio." There's footage of a tremendous collision between a train and a pickup truck; amid the wreckage is a U.S. Air Force container with something inside that's trying to get out.

Not as exciting as that "Cloverfield" trailer was. Some are speculating that this is the prequel. Eh. As a stand alone thing, not that impressive, barely interesting (Area 51 has been covered a billion times before). But...I guess we'll find out next summer how good this film will be.
