Swiss Cottage Library exhibits quilts one of which is Brown
One quilt is a very special sort because it is made from former Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s suit.
Did Sarah Brown sew this quilt? No, it was her mother, Pauline Macaulay.
Quoting Sarah Brown:
Many people's mums are their heroines - my mum is no exception. She was a great teacher in her working life and a wonderful mum to me and my brothers. In recent years, she ran the London Marathon for the first time at the age of 65 and completed her PhD. As the next challenge, she is helping other young students. What inspires me is the way she embraces life to enjoy it to the full, but always makes times to help others and give something back.”
