Tamil comedy artiste Shobhana found dead

It was a tragic end for an artiste who made the audience laugh heartily. Shobhana who portrayed hilarious comedy roles in Tamil films and serials was found dead –hanging to the ceiling fan in her house on Monday.

Police said she possibly resorted to the extreme step as she was suffering from Chikungunya and stomach ache. However, they said they were probing the case from other angles also.

The actress was said to be alone in the apartment ihn Kotturpuram Housing Board Colony, Chennai when she chose to end her life. Her mother Rani, who went out on an errand came back only to find her dead.

Sobhana had acted in films like ‘Silllunu Oru Kadhai’, was a popular comedy artiste. She acted in the comedy soap ‘Meendum Meendum Sirippu’ (Laugh and laugh again).Two of her films ‘Ilaignan’ and ‘Siruthai’ will be released on Friday.
