Team GB stars turn out for Stella McCartney at Paris Fashion Week
Team GB designer Stella McCartney called on her medal-winning Olympian friends to lend their star quality to her Paris Fashion Week show today.
All eyes were on track cyclist Victoria Pendleton, gymnast Louis Smith and Paralympian swimmer Ellie Simmonds in the French capital as they rubbed shoulders with Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Moss and singer M.I.A. in the front row.
The Stella McCartney label remains on dazzling form after critical acclaim for the designer’s creation of the British Olympic team’s wardrobe — and she still appears to have sport on the brain. A slouch-fit bomber jacket with Airtex sleeves was among the first pieces on the catwalk today.
Other sporty elements included loose-fit tabard tops cut from gauze in pristine white, and a series of tube dresses crafted from finely ribbed lightweight wool.
However, it seems McCartney has moved on from blue and white with her collection for next summer. Vibrant shades of apple green and orange were punctuated with stark white and black.
