Ted Nugent Has Been Fined $1,750 For Illegally Baiting a Deer on His Reality Show

As part of his reality show Spirit of the Wild, Ted Nugent used a deer attractant to coax and trap two wild animals in California, which is illegal and he killed one of them with a bow and arrow.

The show was taped in February, but Nugent plead no contest to illegally baiting deer and was originally facing 11 charges including a deer that was too young to be hunted.

In a deal with the court he entered no contest pleas to two misdemeanor charges of baiting the two deer and as a result was fined.

Patrick Foy, a spokesman for the California Department of Fish and Game said:

"They watched him appear to shoot a spiked buck, which is an illegal buck to take, because it's too small. And he had it right there on television, and it wasn't live, it was taped."

I can't believe he was only fined 1750.00 and all the other charges were dropped.  Especially when it was taped! How much more proof do you need.  I think he is a poor representative of the people who hunt and disrespectful to the sport. I can't believe that any of the manufacturer's of hunting equipment would want him to promote their product on his show either.
