Teresa Giudice Auction Listings: Auction Scheduled For August 22
Teresa Giudice and Husband Joe Guidice Will Have to See Their Possessions Be Sold at Auction
The couple from The Real Housewives of New Jersey filed for bankruptcy last October but came under the microscope when a trustee in their bankruptcy case, John Sywilok, alleged that they had tried to hide assets from the court. These included the profits from Teresa's book Skinny Italian and Joe's stake in a pizzeria according to People.com.
They were also accused of undervaluing items and will now have to watch their things be sold at auction at their Towaco, New Jersey mansion. The building and furnishing of this house was chronicled on The Real Housewives of New Jersey show, and Teresa took great pride in how extravagant the design was both inside and out.
An auction website with the details and listings of all the pieces has been set up, and it details that the auction starts at 12pm with the inspection times from 9am to 11:45am.
Their attorney Jim Kridel said that the couple had not undervalued their items, nor tried to hide any assets and revealed that they will be seeking an appeal to the decision.
“Obviously we have objections to what they’re trying to do,” he says, noting that many of the items listed were purchased after the bankruptcy filing with money earned post-petition, meaning they should not be included among the bankruptcy assets.
“I don’t think Teresa is happy seeing all her belongings displayed on the Internet,” he says, adding that she feels it should have been handled in court before being made public. “Clearly they are under the microscope because they are famous.”
