Although bombings, civilian slaughter and barbaric beheadings in Pakistan may seem a long way away from U.S. and European communities, the tentacles of terrorism are poisonous and long. Linked to a common body of radical Muslim religious beliefs, fueled by hatred of the West and disdain for "infidels," and trumpeted in calls for jihad, the messages are clear: Taliban, Al-Queda, and related groups are waging long-term war against the rest of the world.

sorry i just dont buy the "they hate our freedoms" bit
The "war on terror" was a hype to get us into Iraq
so the Bush cronies could make a killing, and so they did.
and its things like this war that are creating anti- US sentiment.
Hoiw mayny people died from terrorism on US soil in the last 3 years ?
How many from auto accidents ?
How many from cancer ?

PEP, Good stuff.
In response to Review 911, they may not heate our freedoms, but they certainly hate out decadent ways, of course that didnt stop the 911 bombers from having a last day on earth party at a strip joint, whereby lapdances and alcoholic drinks flowed fast and free. Lets face it, Islam is one big hypocrisy whereby interpretation is suspect when followers choose portions they want and ignore portions if it conflicts in their decadent indulgences. So may protest in Canada and the USA, yet they choose to immigrate into a decadent society, knowing full well what our society was like before coming here. Now who is the hypocrite?
