'Porn for Bibles' Exchange Riles Texas Campus

A University of Texas San Antonio group, Atheist Agenda, set up a "smut for smut" campaign this week, giving away free, 'high grade' porn in exchange for Bibles and other religious texts. The group argues that the Bible and other religious texts are just as detrimental to society as porn. People throughout history have stood by their religion until the end... even killing in the name of their beliefs.

The “smut for smut” campaign this week tries to counter the religious message of love by noting that the Bible and the Quran recount violence and torture

Some religious students joined hands and prayed in protest over the event. Others even preached or held signs about their religious convictions. While controversy is high over the topic, Atheist Agenda stands behind the event.

As long as students aren't violating laws, of the Constitution, then they have the freedom of speech in an assembly," says UTSA spokesperson David Gabler.
An 18-year-old member of the Atheist Agenda group, Bradley Lewis says the main purpose of the event is to generate debate on the topic. “This is ultimately why this is going on,” Lewis said. “It's an icebreaker to get people talking about these things.”

I thought this was a brilliant way to go about turning heads.

But I agree with you. People get far too caught up in organized religion to consider other opinions... and it's easy to slap a label on and conform to a list of traditions.
