Thanks and thoughts on being "featured"

Many thanks to amyjudd for throwing my hat into the ring to be "Featured Member".

Just the other day, I had to check as to when I joined up here and found it has been a little more than a year. 

Of all the online communities I have run across on the "internets", this has to be one of the most welcoming and sane.  There is a professionalism and a polite attitude (for the most part) that reigns over postings.  You should just see some of the stuff I have put up with on YouTube.

People here have something to say.  They want to be understood.  They want to share whatever knowledge or wisdom they have.  Many of us self-appointed pundits wish to express our views and invite you to be intelligent enough to agree with us.  When someone gets off the mark, whistles blow with flags and/or penalty cards flying.  However, we seem to do it without a fountain of profanity, verbal abuse and ad hominem attacks.

Without the NowPublic staff at the reins, this outfit likely would become a runaway team.  If you are having trouble in the traces, you get calm coaxingds and assurances, not tirades or tantrums.  In commentary, whether your politics are "gee" or "haw", the staff stands ready to call you on misdeeds but seldom lays on the whip.
