One of the happiest memories of my childhood was going to the local cinema to watch the legendary Walt Disney himself perform his magic of animation on a giant cinema screen. Back in those glory days cinemas weren’t like what they’re now. There was no such thing as multiplexes and a price of a ticket didn’t mean that you had to work more then an hour for it like you do now. It was a kinder, gentle era where cinemas were regarded more like theatres with elegant spiral staircases and huge balconies which over looked the seating below. I remember much time when I would sit in the balcony watching Walt Disney perform his magic with such classic animation as the 101 Dalmatians, The Aristocats, The Great Mouse Detective, Song of the South, and Fantasia just to name a few. I also grew up with the works of Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, Friz Freleng and Mel Blanc and my all time favorite bunny himself, Bugs Bunny. Who could forget the antics of Bugs and his Looney Tune Cohorts? Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Wile E. Coyote, The Road Runner, Foghorn Leghorn, and the most memorable of them all the Tasmanian Devil.

For me Bugs Bunny meant a kinder gentler world even with all his antics and sometimes violent like cartoons Bugs just always appealed to me. Along with Woody Woodpecker which some might have already forgotten and Mighty Mouse, Heckle and Jeckle, Scooby Doo, Super Chicken and of course the man who just can’t seem to avoid hitting a tree, George of the Jungle.

The good news is classic animated series like George of the Jungle and Scooby Doo have made their way back onto the small screen in new adventures and even the Flinstones have reappeared over the years.

In today’s world of mostly live action and CGI animation, it’s good to know that some classic animation is still around and thriving. And with no further ado I introduce to you some of my favorite animation sites that you really should check out for yourself.

The newest of these animation websites is Animation Communication Central, which is devoted to everything that is animated. You can talk about any animated series and the site is family friendly in all aspects. And for all you Kim Possible and American Dragon fans and Disney animated fans, this is a great site to check out, same with you classic Bugs Bunny fans or even if you’re a Family Guy fan, this is the place to talk about it.
