Thousands of people marched the streets of Boston for their 39th annual Gay Pride Parade on June 13.

Mayor Thomas Menino and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick joined the 127 groups that registered for the event. There were 46 floats and trucks with at least 10,000 marchers with a crowd of half a million lining the route.

The youth group of the First Parish of Sudbury, a suburb 20 miles west of Boston, decided to take part in the parade several weeks ago. Adam Blake, 14, was dressed for the occasion with a top hat in rainbow colors.
