Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren Divorce Finalized: Statement
Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren's Divorce Has Been Finalized on August 23
The couple showed up at Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City Florida on Monday to finalize their divorce, many details of which were not made available to the public.
They released the following statement:
"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," they said in a statement released by Nordegren's Virginia-based law firm of McGuireWoods. "While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."
No details about how much money Elin Nordegren will receive from the divorce settlement were revealed, but People Magazine reports that it could be anywhere from $100 million to $500 million. They will share custody of their two children, Sam Alexis, 3 and Charlie Axel, 1.
The divorce has been finalized just nine month after Tiger Woods crashed his SUV and the allegations about numerous affairs were revealed to the public. Elin had signed a prenuptial agreement, but that was renegotiated when Tiger's affairs were leaked.
