Tiger Woods gave a press conference today, which was broadcast online via CitizenTube. The Tiger Woods public statement touched on the affairs, the allegations of performance-enhancing drugs, and his desire for privacy.

Tiger Woods used the press conference to apologize for his multiple affairs, and recommitted himself to his family and to golf, saying "I was wrong, I was foolish. I don't get to live by different rules."

Tiger Woods denied that his wife, Elin Nordegren, hit him on Thanksgiving night, when he crashed his SUV into a tree and fire hydrant, when the story of his multiple affairs began to emerge.

Some key quotes from the Tiger Woods press conference:

"I have let you down. I have let down my fans. for many of you, especially my friends, my behavior has been a personal disappointment."

"I thought I could get away with anything I wanted to [...] I thought I was entitled."

"Leave my wife and kids alone."

"I do plan to return to golf one day, but I don't know when that will be."

Tiger Woods also lashed out at the media for intruding into his wife's and his children's lives.

The supposedly-leaked transcript from Tiger Wood's speech claimed by WKSF indeed turned out to be fake.

Embarassed golf fan

All of Tiger's handlers and the contrived message he delivers is OVERLY contrived.  Consider how fluid he is on TV, he was robotic. The only joy I'm getting is all of the humor this stuff generates.  I just read the "unofficial" Tiger Woods press conference transcript on twitter - www.twitter.com/tigersescalade - it's priceless.
