Tim Robbins Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Acclaimed actor, director, writer, musician and activist, Tim Robbins received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame over the weekend.
I've been a Tim Robbins fan since his turn as a sleazy movie exec in the classic Robert Altman film 'The Player'. I went on to follow his career closely, and have loved his performances in everything from Bull Durham, Jacob's Ladder, and Bob Roberts, to Short Cuts and Mystic River.
Robbins is also an accomplished writer and director as his work on the excellent films Dead Man Walking and Cradle Will Rock can attest.
It's rare that Hollywood sees fit to honours those who are actually deserving of the recognition, so I'm pleased to see that Robbins has been given a deserving symbolic place amongst many of American cinema's greatest.
Tim Robbins has received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame[.]"I used to take the bus from here to Burbank to go to work. When the bus was late, I would walk up and down and throw my cigarettes down. Now I have the honor of having this done to my star," Robbins joked Friday at the ceremony, says the Associated Press.
The 49-year-old actor was joined by his longtime partner (and 'Bull Durham' costar) Susan Sarandon, with whom he has two boys.
