Tina Davis Booty Call Text Led to Chris Brown Assault on Rihanna

The dating violence between Chris Brown and Rihanna may have been triggered by fears of infidelity, but it wasn't Rihanna who was flirting with infidelity, it was Chris Brown.

According to the latest news to go through the rumor mill the fight between Rihanna and Brown started after she saw a "booty call" text message from his manager, and alleged former lover, Tina Davis.

Rihanna is said to have become enraged when she saw a flirtatious booty call type message from Tina Davis, who turns 40 next month. Like Rihanna and her mentor Jay-Z, Chris Brown and Tina Davis have been the subject of love affair gossip.

The Tina Davis/Chris Brown rumor claims that the two had an affair when he was starting out at the age of 16. Chris Brown will turn 20 on May 5, 2009 meaning Davis would have been 36 when she allegedly was involved with him... a 20 year age difference.

Seems like some Chris Brown fans may owe Rihanna an apology if this latest rumor turns out to be true. When news of the assault first made headlines speculation was that Rihanna was the one being unfaithful with her mentor Jay-Z.

As the victim of the violence Rihanna was further vilified by Chris Brown fans who claimed she deserved to be hit for having an affair with Jay-Z. Some versions of the gossip even claimed Rihanna gave Brown herpes.

The truth may finally come out on April 6, 2009 when Chris Brown returns to court to answer the charges against him.

According to TMZ, police say that Tina Davis sent Chris Brown a three-page text message inviting him to "hook up" with her. The affidavit said that the text message is from "a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."

According to the affidavit, obtained by the Smoking Gun Web site:

Rihanna read the message, flew into a jealous rage, and allegedly slapped Chris Brown as he drove his rented Lamborghini. He allegedly retaliated by trying to push Rihanna out of the car, and, in the process, punched her in the head and face multiple times.

Chris Brown has been charged with felony assault and making a criminal threat. He appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court last Thursday but did not enter a plea. He will be arraigned on April 6.
