Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: John Le Carré Novel to Hit the Big Screen
The first trailer for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has hit the web, and it looks awesome. The adaptation of John Le Carré's espionage novel was directed by Tomas Alfredson, who also helmed the gorgeous Let the Right One In. Alfredson proved himself an expert in creating tension in ostensibly mundane settings. He can make you afraid of a Swedish pre-teen girl; imagine what he can do with sniper rifles and double-agents.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy follows George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a cold-war spook who is brought out of retirement to track a Soviet mole in MI6. John Le Carré's book was previously adapted as a miniseries starring Sir Alec Guinness in 1979.
