Brad Ruderman's Victims Sue Tobey Maguire over Multi-Million-Dollar Texas Hold 'Em Games

Actor Tobey Maguire is getting sued over illegal gambling. Hedge fund manager Brad Ruderman was jailed for embezzling funds from his clients in order to pay off debts accrued from participating in underground poker games.

To pay off the massive gambling debts, Brad Ruderman organized a Ponzi scheme to pay off the debts, including over $300,000 to Toby Maguire. The no-limit Texas Hold 'Em games took place at several of Los Angeles' trendiest venues.

The poker games were attended by an invite-only group of celebrities Among the participants in the underground card games, according to the civil suit:

  • Matt Damon
  • Ben Affleck
  • Leonardo DiCaprio
  • Rick Salomon
  • Nick Cassavetes

Note that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are not named in the lawsuit, despite some earlier reports.
