Tom Cruise Takes "Ghost Protocol" to Moscow, Talks Top Gun 2
He's been all over the world promoting his latest flick as of late, and during the Dubai premiere of"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol", Tom Cruise revealed some inside details about the film.
When asked by MTV News about his favorite scene from the action flick, the award-winning actor told, "It's hard to say, because each one has been so different, and each had different kinds of challenges."
Recalling one scene that involves his character Ethan Hunt repelling into the heart of the CIA headquarters, Cruise explained, "I remember when I was doing it, my head kept hitting the floor. ... I was running out of energy, and we were running out of time."
"To one of the stunt guys, I said, 'Give me your pound coins out of your pocket,' " Cruise went on. "I put the pound coins in my shoes, the tips, so that's what allowed me to be able to balance and keep off the floor for that whole shot. That kept my face from hitting the floor."
Continuing along with his ever-so-busy promo schedule, Tom Cruise was spotted at the premiere festivities surrounding "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" in Moscow, Russia on Thursday (December 8).
The 49-year-old actor looked handsome in jeans and sport coat as he posed for pictures alongside co-stars Simon Pegg and Paula Patton, as well as director Brad Bird.
In career news, when MTV recently caught up with Mr Cruise, the star admitted that he is involved in "Top Gun 2," saying, "We're working on it."
Tom continued, "If we can find a story that we [director Tony Scott and producer Jerry Bruckheimer] all want to do, we all want to make a film that is in the same kind of tone as the other one and shoot it in the same way as we shot 'Top Gun.'"
He's no stranger to international travel, and earlier this week (December 7) Tom Cruise was spotted at the premiere of his new flick "Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol" in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The "Minority Report" stud looked handsome in a black suit/white shirt combo as he hammed it up at the Madinat Jumeriah Complex as part of the 8th Annual Dubai International Film Festival.
Earlier that morning, Tom was at a press conference with his costars Simon Pegg and Anil Kapoor, where he explained his mindset prior to shooting one of the film's most exciting stunts.
"The first moment on the Burj, when I saw the rope, I remember just thinking this is - this is - the moment of truth. There's one thing seeing it and another thing trying to accomplish that. I remember that I didn't quite make it the first time and came slamming into the building."
