July 19, 2010 -- "Tony is still resting and staying stable," stated Jill ("Jillie") Vandenberg Curtis, wife of Hollywood screen legend Tony Curtis. "We will be here in the hospital for a while longer, but he is doing better."

The 85-year-old actor has been hospitalized for nearly a week after reportedly experiencing breathing problems while attending an an event to unveil his latest artwork in Nevada.

Earlier today, this update was posted on Curtis' Facebook page:

"While in his hospital room, [he] has been listening to Siriusly [sic] Sinatra on his iPhone and iPad- TC is always on the cutting edge!"

Curtis suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and was admitted to a local hospital for tests.

Since his hospitalization, many of Curtis' near 5,000 Facebook friends and fans have sent him well-wishes.

"Thank you for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers," stated Mrs. Curtis. "They are helping him!"
