The United States military is known to use various coercive and deplorable tactics for its interrogations, however, now its official 'torture soundtrack' has been revealed.

The military's playlists include everything from the thrashing shreds and yelps of AC/DC and Metallica to children's anthemic earworms from programs including Sesame Street and Barney.

What is this auditory torture called? Audioboarding?

U.S. military interrogators have often blasted music at detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay. According to the British law group Reprieve, these are among the songs they have used most frequently:

• "Enter Sandman," Metallica.

• "Bodies," Drowning Pool.

• "Shoot to Thrill," AC/DC.

• "Hell's Bells," AC/DC.

• "I Love You," from the "Barney and Friends" children's TV show.

• "Born in the USA," Bruce Springsteen.

• "Babylon," David Gray.

• "White America," Eminem.

• "Sesame Street," theme song from the children's TV show.

How can someone be tortured with a such a great playlist (excluding last two songs ) ?

If you blast one of these songs on repeat for a few days I think its enough to make anyone go crazy. Not to mention that you can just blast the same 1-2 seconds of a song repeatedly.

I wonder what would say Bruce and other musicians from "playlist" for a fact that their songs were used for torturing people? I'm not sure  they had that in mind while they were constructing their songs.

Disagree. Bruce HAD to know he was crafting pure repetitive torture-fodder when writing Born in the USA. Have you ever had to listen to that song all the way through? Just once and I was begging for release from this mortal coil.

Frankieteardrop, you are saying that you had been interrogated by U.S. military? You must be terorist then, or you used to be terorist. :) ( and bad one if you cracked after just one song )
