Director Michael Bay confirmed that there will be a 3rd Transformers movie, to be released July 1st, 2011.  The films' two young stars of the series, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox have both agreed to come on board for Transformers 3.

It comes as no surprise that there will be another sequel because the first two movies have grossed over $1.5 billion US worldwide.  I don't think it would shock anybody if Bay later decides to make a fourth Transformers movie to keep milking the billion dollar cow.

Bay made the news official by announcing it on his website.  In his statement, he made a reference to his crew's open contempt for Megan Fox by sarcastically welcoming her back to the fold.  Bay apparently doesn't carry the same ill feelings towards the films' star Megan Fox as his crew members, who trashed Fox for her diva like behavior on set.

"Please consult your physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur. … As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your doctor to determine if this is right for you."

I'm surprised he invited Megan Fox back really, considering she called him Hitler!
