Transformers Breaks Wednesday Record!

Early estimates for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's Wednesday box office is $55 million. That's the most a movie has ever grossed on a Wednesday. It beat 2007's Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonix which grossed $44.2 million.

The movie is on its way to become the summer's first huge hit. So far it has been a slow summer with only Star Trek, Up, and Hangover as the only real break-out hits and neither has grossed anything that stands out.

With last year's July hit, The Dark Knight and now Transformer's as a huge June hit, the studios will have to re-think if May is still their big month.
