As NowPublic previously reported, Disney is producing Tron Legacy a sequel to the classic 1982 cult videogame movie Tron. With Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund cast in the leading roles for Tron Legacy, the film now has another powerhouse duo on board — acclaimed French electronic music artists Daft Punk will write and record the soundtrack to the movie.

In my view, Disney's made a great choice; the electro-disco, robotic bounce of Daft Punk's music is a perfect and appropriate fit with the original Tron's early arcade, day-glo aesthetic.

Now here's hoping the remake will do justice to the original film's cyberpunk aesthetic.

Tron Legacy is scheduled for release in 2011.

The soundtrack will be the first full-length Daft Punk album since 2005's Human After All.

Daft Punk are set to record the soundtrack to the forthcoming film remake of the 1982 film 'Tron'.

The pair's work for 'Tron 2.0'. will result in their first studio album since 2005's 'Human After All'.

The Disney-made film is set for release in 2011, reports Upcomingfilmscores.blogspot.com.
