Late Late Show addresses The State of the Union

"It's a great day for America, everybody!"

Fans of the Late Late Show will know that Craig Ferguson has been carrying on about his lack of American citizenship for quite a while now. In fact, he's racked up more than 16,000 'honorary citizenships' from cities all over the United States, as a result. Well, now that he's passed the official citizenship test with flying colours, he'll be able to claim fully legitimate status in a manner of weeks. I hope the Scottish accent stays though. Watch the clip.

No need for any more honorary citizenships for talk-show host Craig Ferguson. He's going to be the real deal.

The "Late Late Show" host announced Monday that he got a perfect score on his citizenship test, taken Friday in Los Angeles. The Scottish-born Ferguson will officially be sworn in a few weeks from now.

"All of you people born here, if you had to take that test - well, Canada would be building a fence right now," he said on his CBS show Monday.
