Twilight 'Eclipse' 3rd Movie to be Directed by David Slade

David Slade, the director of "30 Days of Night" has been tapped to direct "Eclipse" — the anticipated third film in the Twilight movie franchise.

"New Moon" the second film in the series, is being directed by Chris Weitz, and due out in theatres on November 20, 2009.

"Eclipse" is scheduled for release on June 30, 2010. The film has yet to begin production.

Summit Entertainment said Thursday that David Slade has been tapped to direct "Eclipse," the third film in the series based on the Stephenie Meyer's best-selling vampire books. Slade has bloodsucking experience: His credits include the 2007 horror "30 Days of Night" about an Alaskan town plagued by vampires.

Last year's original "Twilight" film starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and grossed over $350 million worldwide.

Dear Summit and Mr. Slade,

My name is Araceli Bejar I'm 20 years old but can pass as younger. I am very interested in playing Leah Clearwater, I sent in my audition tape not long ago for the open casting for "Eclipse" Summit was having for the part of Seth and Leah. Though I am not native american I am sure I can play the part. I may not have as much of experience and have never filmed a movie but I have done small projects and have been an extra for HBO's Entourage and even took drama in high school. I am a very hard working and dedicated aspiring actress who is willing to do anything to get a chance to live her dream and passion. I have read all the twilight saga books and love them, so even better because I know the story. Please if you can look over my audition tape and if you can contact me I would really love it. I won't give up and will keep on looking for auditons. I am willing to travel any where and I do have my passport so I can go to Vancouver.
