Fans of the highly anticipated dvd release of the first installement of the vampire series Twilight staring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, lined up at midnight last night for the release of the dvd and stores such as WalMart held vampire themed parties. Dvd sales were high, even outselling James Bond and some stores say this is the biggest movie release they have had in a long time.

Some stores had cookies, prizes and giveaways, and some stores even held blood drives. Some stores had life size cardboard cutouts of the stars as well.

The die hard fans just couldn't wait until this morning to watch their own personal copy of Twilight so they didn't mind staying up late to celebrate this day they have been waiting for.

"It's an excuse to stay up late," added her friend, 14-year-old Joanna Wroten, of Ada.

"I'm going to stay up and watch it no matter what my mom says," joined in Grand Rapids-resident Mallory Joy Smith, 14.

Walmart was one of the only stores, other than some Blockbusters and other movie stores that chose to stay open late for the release; other stores didn't but fans can still get their hands on a copy of the movie today.
