Pre-production is already in the works for a reality TV series set in the Twilight town of Forks, WA. Casting has begun for the reality show that will depict the everyday lives of the residents of this small logging town in Washington. Forks has experienced a great spike in tourism specifically in the last year as fans of The Twilight Saga flocked to the setting of Stephenie Meyer's fantasy world..

While the characters in Twilight are fictional, many of the locations are very much real. The Forks High School exists within the town centre, as does the Thriftway for shopping needs. La Push, the beaches, and the surrounding forests are all real locations that are transplanted into Meyer's novels. The question remains whether this is going to be a reality TV series in any way related to Twilight.  Producer Zig Gauthier claims that the reality TV series will not be Twilight themed:

The series will be about the daily lives of the Fork's residents. "Obviously we won't be out on the ocean or dealing with that kind of danger, but the idea is to show what life here is really like," said producer Zig Gauthier.

No vampires here though - Gauthier added that they're not looking to spotlight any possible claims of supernatural activity. "We want people who have a true connection to the community. We want to avoid people with outlandish claims." Gauthier said.

Gauthier wants to convey what the real people of Forks are like, and detail the everyday goings on of their lives. The show will likely focus on a few key families or groups of teens in the town and form a reality-based plotline from there. The show will reportedly focus on the real-life community life in Forks, featuring real people rather than the fictional characters that Meyer gave homes there. The citizens of Forks have adapted to their newfound celebrity status with open arms within the last year or so, but could a Twilight inspired reality TV series be pushing the boundaries?

According to Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center Manager Mike Gurling, the prospect of Forks being the basis for a reality show is "pretty hard to imagine…"
