Twilight's Kristen Stewart Nominated for BAFTA, Rising Star
Twilight starlet Kristen Stewart has officially been nominated by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) for the annual Orange Rising Star Award. Stewart along with other young stars including Jesse Eisenberg, Nicholas Hoult, Carey Mulligan, and Tahar Rahim have been shortlisted for the award.
Sponsored by telecommunications company Orange UK, the winner of the rising star award is determined by the public via phone calls, the internet, and text messages. The award was created following the death of Mary Selway, a hugely successful casting director who has been key in the establishment of fresh new talent in the industry, in 2004. Since its debut in 2006, actors and actresses ranging from James Macavoy to Shia LaBeouf to Eva Green have taken home the award.
The winner will be announced at the BAFTA film awards scheduled to take place on February 21, 2010 in London.
