Lots of people are reporting a drop in their Twitter follower counts. This is because Twitter has purged a whole bunch of spam accounts. However, it may also mean that you pissed off your followers and they now hate you because you tweeted one time too many about what you had for lunch. How does that make you feel?
And lastly, are you happy about the change: would you prefer more followers, even if they’re just spammy accounts, or having a lesser number of legitimate followers? Please voice your opinion in the comments.

This is good news! Followers list is as important as the Following list. We now have a powerful filter to hook up with people who are following people you are interested in. Good Work Twitter! One more punch on the face for spammers.

Quality rules in every area of life. I CRAVE it. Spammy accounts? They are food for comedy and interesting blog posts, but they waste very time. Three good "whatevers" in life online or offline are better than thousands of nameless anonymous I don't care about you, just my scams, spams and mindless junk that I want to deliver to you. Thanks to Twitter for removing spammy accounts, but I wonder what their exact criteria was for removing is? Gotta get back to work or I'd look this up myself.

I had about five followers with pictures of Britney Spears licking a... Popsicle. Now I can show my mom my account, so it's all good.
Or at least, I tell myself that to reduce the sting.

Oh good, I thought maybe I was going crazy or something. I'm glad twitter did this, it makes the website a lot more legitment. Now facebook needs to get in there and delete all its spammers!

I had 105 followers now i have 69 i don't care if they were spam accounts it made me feel good having alot of followers

I rather have few but quality followers and I know from those quality followers will increase dramatically.
