Photo-blogs are great. You can learn so much about a place by images.
I found this interesting picture by http://www.flickr.com/photos/mariaroff/ on a phot-blog from iceland http://icelandeyes.blogspot.com
I cannot for the life of me guess if this goat is alive or not. I am sure that it is real. I am thinking stuffed?
Pretty cool picture either way and great photos of Iceland on the site.

This goat is real. It is housed in a folk museum in Skogar, Iceland. I have a photo of it somewhere in my box of photos from Iceland. When I visited there, it was down in a dusty basement. Also in the museum there are many pieces from traditional scandanavian life. As well as some legends. In Skogar there is a waterfall called Skogafoss. There is a legend of a door behind the waterfall, I don't remember what the rest of the folktale says except that the museum has a handle that was supposed to have come from that door into the bluff under the waterfall.

Wow. I was still wondering about this. I'll see if I can find anything about the legend. Thank you so much for the comment and info.
