U.S Soldiers Remake Lady Gaga's Telephone: Video
U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan Remake Lady Gaga's Telephone Video and it's Gaining Popularity
There are many remakes of Lady Gaga's videos and her most recent video for her song Telephone is no exception. One remake is catching more attention than others however as it is performed by a group of U.S soldiers fighting overseas in Afghanistan.
The video appeared on YouTube on April 23 and shows a group of soldiers in combat gear and then Lady Gaga inspired costumes performing the lip-syncing to the popular song. They even have some of the moves perfectly copied.
Who Are the Soldiers in the Video?
Thankfully The Smoking Gun has managed to track down some of these soldiers in the video, but they seem not as willing to talk about their creation now.
The video was posted by soldier named Aaron Melcher who also apparently came up with the idea for the video and appears the most throughout. The description posted on YouTube says:
This is a couple guys located in afghanistan, that re-made the music video by Lady Gaga....Telephone. Prepare yourself for a fantastical journey.
Right now this is the temporary version, we have more scenes to cut, and edit, however with guys always on mission it is harder to film than you think.
Justin Baker is the soldier that appears at the beginning with Melcher and later appears in a belly-baring shirt with a pink sash across his chest.
Kenneth Eichler, James Conley, Kory Robert, Mike Castor and Joshua Pilon are also U.S soldiers that appear in the video.
It seems as if the soldiers were not ready for this level of attention however, as when according to TSG, when Melcher first uploaded the video he told his Facebook friends to share it with everyone. When contacted for an interview however, he said this:
The video, he noted, was intended to be for "a couple of our friends and family and you can see that it has blown up way more than that...nobody in the video would like any further media coverage."
Lady Gaga has not said anything on her Twitter about the video, but for fans of the it we are all hoping for the next edit to be released really soon!
