When I came across the quote below I decided that it might be worth paying a visit to Bray to see what US killer machines look like and maybe I could get some photographs of the protest. When I arrived in Bray on the DART at 3PM there were so many people there that there was hardly any room to move. Sadly there was no sign of any protesters so no photographs of the planned protest, maybe they decided that it was a waste of time and went home.
I managed to take about 1000 photographs but there was no sign of any American killer machines and then it arrived a US Airforce C-17. It did a few flybys and then disappeared over the horizon. A a C-17 could not really be described as a killing machine so it was not exactly what I hoped for but I was informed by some children standing beside me that this was the first time that a C-17 transport plane has been seen at an Irish air show.
Are we going to protest in Bray tomorrow about the use of US Military killer machines in Ireland, according to this post in flying in ireland the US will take part in the Bray air show on Sunday 27th July
The Boeing (formerly McDonnell Douglas) C-17 Globemaster III is a large American airlifter manufactured by Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, and operated by the United States Air Force, British Royal Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force, and the Canadian Forces Air Command. NATO and Qatar will also acquire the airlifter.
The C-17 Globemaster III is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to main operating bases or directly to forward bases in the deployment area. It is also capable of performing tactical airlift, medical evacuation and airdrop missions. The C-17 takes its name from two previous United States cargo aircraft, the C-74 Globemaster and the C-124 Globemaster II.
