This past Friday, the Vatican "absolved" the Beatles, though their diary "L'Obsservatore Romano", after more than 40 years of the declaration of John Lennon, that, if you don't know, said: "The Beatles are more populra than Jesus Christ".

The newspapper published an article that elogiated the owrk of the fab four, and  conmemorated the 40th anniversary of the realized of "The White Album", saying that it was a masterpiece and that it was a "musical utopia where you will find everything and the opposite of everything".

And it ends saying that the Beatles were and important imfluence in the young society of the time that wanted to express their self and that lived new and important era that changed the world.

Thanks for this story, clarabella 13. I have included a link to Vatican 'forgives' Lennon for 'more popular than' Jesus remark. I think the entire article is worth reading.

Interesting article, well worth reading. I remember the incident at the height of Beatlmania. There was a lot of fuss over it and I kept thinking why is anyone offended by it. It was a very good analogy of what was happening to him at the time. No offense was ever intended.
