The actor-director’s controversial film that was to release this Friday has been banned for 15 days in his home state.

With Muslim organisations objecting to actor-filmmaker Kamal Hassan’s movie Vishwaroopam on the ground that it portrays the community in bad light, the Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday banned it.

The movie’s Tamil and Telugu versions were slated for release on Friday, January 25, 2013 and the government order was issued late Wednesday after the representatives of some Muslim organisations met the state home secretary and submitted a memorandum.
