Vote 4 Stuff: Celebrities urge people to get out and vote
A number of Hollywood celebrities are "starring" in a new PSA that uses social media to urge voters - particularly young, socially connected ones - to get out and vote. The Vote 4 Stuff campaign, which launched on Monday, includes a Facebook page, Twitter account, and a YouTube video featuring the celebrities.
According to the Facebook page, Vote 4 Stuff is a nonpartisan campaign conceived and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire.
Leonardo Dicaprio opens the YouTube video (embedded) by saying “If you could vote for anything in the world ...” Among the issues celebrities reveal they wish they could vote for are jobs, marriage equality, climate change, foreign policy, reproductive rights, immigration, worker's rights, teacher salaries and education.
The Vote 4 Stuff video features DiCaprio and Maguire, along with others such as Ellen DeGeneres, Benicio Del Toro, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Edward Norton, and Amanda Seyfried. The stars use the video, along with the Facebook and Twitter campaigns, to encourage people to get out to vote.
