Found Wall-E and his friend (is that Sall-E?) the other day. --- Correction, her name is Eve. Wall-E and Eve.
Now, I just have to comment with the design of character Sall-E. Isn't she way too simple? Just a couple of NURBS- spheres and cylinders? C'mon Pixar! (almost like Apple's design) I reckoned the simplistic character is really the most flexible to animate, but I am hoping that one day Pixar really takes on more layered and complex character, not just in term of design, but also the personality.

Found Wall-E and Eve statues at nearby Cinema in the city the other day. They are soon to be premiered in the US, but it might take few months until we get it here in Australia.
Now, I just have to comment with the design of character Eve. Isn't she way too simple? Just a couple of NURBS- spheres and cylinders? C'mon Pixar! (almost like Apple's design). I am not a big fan of Eve's design. It is almost like a ghost shape and not so cute for a female alien. Check CJ7 for an example of nice and simple character design. I guess the simplistic character is really the most flexible to animate, but I am hoping that one day Pixar really takes on more layered and complex character, not just in term of design, but also the personality. In fact, I have a feeling that Wall-E does have deep and complex personality.

Check this movie title:

You can find CJ7 in the movie. Although I am comparing this to movie that produced in HK, I think in term of character design, one should consider all the basic or what kind of design particularly appealing. Anyhow, I believe some people would find Eve still appealing as a futuristic stylistic design. For me personally, Eve does not appeal as a female alien robot character, nor `cute` as I see it.
CJ7 is more organic nature as alien, and not a robot per se, but anyhow, just a comment.
