This Week In Craft
This week's crafty news, collected here just for you. Short and sweet this time, as I've spent much of the weekend at the studio, and am home only to eat, shower (maybe), and pet the turtles. Here we go:Crafty projects that will make you run out and buy the necessary supplies right this minute: the tampon chandelier, and the minimalist pop-up card. After you've finished, take a nap and then plan to waste approximately 9 hours making a virtual kaleidoscope. You've earned it.
Wanna go to the Pitchfork Music Festival? Wanna sell your handmade goods at Pitchfork? Contact the good folks at depARTment and apply by June 10. While you're at it, check out the call for handmade metal beads for a new book from Lark. Want to submit your work for possible feature without the pressure of having to show up for a gig or get professional shots taken of your work under a time crunch (not always doable or enjoyable, I know)? I found Neato Stuff a few days ago, a site that features a range of goods, both handmade and not. Fun, small, offbeat pieces seem to do well there – popsicle soaps, those fun acrylic diamond rings – and submitting your work is as easy as clicking the 'submit your neato stuff' link on the homepage.
And when you're allll finished, get yourself a glass of iced tea and one of these, and go back to making those kaleidoscopes:
