Westboro - God Hates The World

Westboro Baptist Church has released a new song based on the late Michael Jackson's song 'We are the World', except their version is 'God Hates the World'.

Westboro Baptist Church is famous for their condemnation of Christians, Jews, and Muslims, and anyone else who is considered different from them, and is based in Topeka Kansas, under the leadership of Fred Phelps.

Phelps has made headlines many times over the years, particularly for propagating truly venomous anti-homosexual statements; back in 1998, along with members of his “church”, Phelps actually demonstrated outside the funeral of Matthew Shepard, who died at age 21 after being tortured to death by two men because he was gay.

The Matthew Shepard Act was just passed through Congress yesterday.

A selection from the lyrics of the song state that:

Evil world, you’ve come together as one

See your soldiers dying

Oh, you claim God’s blessing you

That lie, the greatest lie of all

You can’t go on, pretending day by day

That the God of judgment is dead and gone

You are all a part of the Devil’s family

And the truth, you’re all headed straight to hell

Reaction so far to the song seems to be strong both for and against the message.

On second thought, I would rather not see the video, so if it is not available, then fine!

Well, if there is a God then he may hate humanity not the World though.

I would be upset as well if I was God and created humans to see how destructive and stupid they are! Further seeing what my creation does to the rest of my garden, I think I pull the plug and get some weed killer to weed out humans so my garden can survive.

I suppose, it may be a god thing that I am not God.

¨For God so loved the world that gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.¨
