What's the Big Deal With Snuggies?

A coworker of mine sent around an email maybe a month or so ago which mentioned a party that was going to being thrown in San Francisco. I checked out his link and it went to a website mentioning one of the weirdest parties I could have ever imagined. It involved drinking beer so it's atleast halfway good. The other half is what bewilders me. You can check out the pictures, but basically, the concept was to get a ton of people all wearing those ugly "snuggies" you might have seen advertised on tv. I remember watching Jay Leno and Conan Obrien heavily bash these crazy robes every night for several weeks.

Then there are the websites based around snuggies sightings. Not just 1 or 2, but tons of blogs and websites completely dedicated to the pictures of people caught wearing these things.

But finally, what makes my head spin is that the SF snuggie bar crawl wasn't just a one time/one location event. There's an entire website devoted to posting the time and location of future bar crawls. There were 20 snuggie bar crawls when I looked today. Unbelievable.
