When Does Fringe Return for Season 4? (Trailers, Promos)
Fringe Season 4 Approaches
Fringe fans, rejoice: the wait is nearly over. Fringe returns for Season 4 on September 23.
When we last left Olivia Dunham, Peter Bishop, Walter Bishop, Astrid, and Broyles, they were having an awkward encounter with Walternate and Bolivia. Peter Bishop had used the Machine to apparently stop the alternate universe from imploding/exploding/destructing.
However, while Peter's action seemed successful, he vanished. Peter just ceased to be, and nobody seemed to react at all. The Observers exposited that, not only did Peter vanish, his earlier existence has also been erased. That's why nobody noticed when he went *poof*: the timeline changed to one with no Peter.
It's not clear, though, if Peter still exists in the alternate universe. We know he'll be back, but we're not sure how the writers will make it happen. At least it will keep the Peter/Olivia romance from becoming rote and boring. So there's that.
So, while earlier seasons gave us multiple universes, we now also have multiple timelines: the season 3 finale showed that the placement of the Machine's parts was orchestrated by Future Walter.
Those who haven't yet seen Fringe, best start getting into it: imagine a more mean-spirited and violent X-Files, except without skeptics and with way better tailoring. Also, you get to see the Steward of Gondor and Pacey Witter as a father-son pseudo-science team. If you're not sold on that, then there's nothing I can do for you.
Actually, yes, there is: Lance Reddick's impeccable wardrobe (how does he get his tie-knots so perfect?) and the many faces of Olivia Dunham. Check out the Fringe Season 4 trailers below.
Also, which version of Astrid's hair do you prefer? Season 1, or Season 2-3? It's like the Beatles and the Stones: everyone has a favorite, even if they don't think they do.
