Whitney Houston First New Album in 6 Years

Whitney Houston will release her first new album in six years this fall. Due to drop on September 1, 2009 the as-yet-untitled album will mark Houston's seventh studio album since 1985.

Houston is one of the music industry's most decorated and successful female artists, garnering more than 400 awards to her name and selling upwards of 170 million records.

The upcoming album will be a comeback for Houston who has made headlines for her troubled personal life. Ranging from rehab to divorce Houston's private issues have trumped her music career in terms of media coverage in recent years.
