Whitney Houston Tour Schedule: Glasgow, Manchester Cancelled
Singer Whitney Houston is having a rough start to her new world tour after years of professional stagnation
Yesterday, it was reported that Whitney Houston cancelled her Paris show, the first on the European leg of her "Nothing But Love" world tour, over an upper respiratory track infection. The concert was re-scheduled for June 1.
Initially, 46-year-old Houston was set to resume her performances on April 8 in Manchester, UK. However, now Houston's concert managers are cutting on the next three concert dates to allow the singer more time to recover. In a statement, tour organizers claim that the three cancelled concerts in Manchester and Glasgow will be re-scheduled. Her two concerts in Manchester will now take place on June 16 and 17, while her Glasgow concert will be re-scheduled for May 1.
Houston's concerts in Birmingham, Nottingham, Dublin, Newcastle and London are still on schedule.
Only last month Whitney had said how excited she was to be performing again in the UK after her eleven year absence and was looking forward to performing new songs as well as crowd favorites.
Houston has already performed in South Korea, Japan and Australia, drawing scathing reviews about her present singing ability. Some of her fans even walked out during one of her shows in Australia, calling the performance a "disgrace."
Meanwhile, a Whitney Houston impersonator, 24-year-old Lin Yu Chan has wowed the audience on the Taiwanese version of "American Idol" with his rendition of "I Will Always Love You," a song that made Houston world famous back in the 80s. The video of Chan's performance is quickly becoming a new Internet meme, and "real" Whitney Houston better watch out.
