Bond Film To Be Shot In India, Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto New Bond Girl?

Speculation is rampant about who the new Bond girl will be for the next installment in the popular James Bond action films. One rumor is that Freida Pinto, one of the star's of the 2009 Best Oscar film Slumdog Millionaire, will star in the next Bond movie.

Apparently, the rumor mill also has the former Ms. Universe Aishwarya Rai being touted as the next Bond girl.

None of this is confirmed but here is what is known - the film's producers have been scouting locations in India. Based on that the speculation went into overdrive that not only will be the film be shot in India, it will likely be a Bollywood star who will be chosen as the next Bond girl to star opposite Daniel Craig.

However, as per the latest buzz, the pretty petite has denied the on-going rumours that she was approached by director Sam Mendes to play the lead in the next Bond movie. The statement came from her official spokesperson.

Though the hearsay appears too gratifying and one would love to be a part of such news but it seems Freida is not among those who would mislead by publishing reports which are not true or even closely confirmed.

Of course that news did not stop the speculation as those fans and supporters of Aishwarya Rai stepped into the fray campaigning for Mrs Bachan as the next Bong girl

"The producers wanted an Indian actress for the role of Bond girl, as James Bond comes to India on his next mission, but they also wanted a famous face, and who is more famous than Ash?" one of the star's backers told The Times of India.

If the film is set in India, and if the actor chosen is Indian then it would be the first time a Bollywood actress would be cast as a Bond girl, a definite bust to any actor's career - with the exception of Denis Richards.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be the perfect choice. Freida Pinto? There are lots of girls like her. She ain't any special. Aishwarya is the most beautiful woman in the world ever!!! Did you look at her eyes??? OMG! She's drop dead gorgeous! And a very good actress too, unlike Freida who just did a 5 min role in an Oscar winning film. Whereas Aish won many awards for her acting capabilitites. Go Aish!!

I think Ash is not perfect for that caharacter...She didn't able to prove her ability in Hollywood movies ..just act in 2/3 third class or fourth class flop Hollywood movies......But frieda has already prove her in SLumdog!!!!!!!!! She is perfect bond girl.....
