Who Will the New Boss on The Office 2011? Gervais, Spader, Tate?
Who Will Be The New Boss on The 2011 Season of The Office Now That Steve Carrell Is Gone? Ricky Gervais, James Spader, Catherine Tate?
Now that Steve Carrell has left The Office, people have been wondering who will be the new boss on the popular NBC comedy.
Will Ferrell has been filling in for Steve Carrell as of late but he is, strictly speaking, a temp.
So Who Will Be the New Boss on the Office?
No formal announcement has been made and speculation has been rampant. There are reports that Jim Carrey and Ray Romano will appear in the season finale and some have speculated they may be in the running for job of boss at Dunder-Miflin's Scranton office. James Spader, Will Arnett, and series creator Ricky Gervais have also been mentioned.
There's also been talk of The Office hiring from within: Ed Helms, Craig Robinson and Rainn Wilson could be moving into the manager's office.
The Hollywood Reporter, however, says that Catherine Tate may be the front-runner for Michael Scott's old job.
The British actress has appeared on Doctor Who and her own comedy series.

I think Michael was the only thing saving the show. It doesn't matter who replaces him, it can be as good as it used to be if they make it about Jim and Pam again. Poll: Will Catherine Tate make a good top boss on 'The Office'?Link: www.wepolls.com/r/457001

I love The Office and thought if Steve Carrel ever left (now here we are) the only way they could keep it afloat is if they brought in Ricky Gervais. I still think Ricky Gervais would be a good candidate but after watching the final I have changed my opinion. I believe that James Spader was brilliant and would be a brilliant replacement for Steve. When you think back to a show like M*A*S*H and their brilliance in replacing Henry Blake with someone very different, namely Sherman T. Potter, it worked great precisely because they were so different. They have given a kind of blueprint for continued success to future shows. Blake was a cornball and very relaxed; Potter was serious and orderly. James Spader offers The Office a fresh approach with continued brilliance. I think Robert California would be to Michael Scott in The Office just as Sherman T. Potter was to Henry Blake in M*A*S*H.
