It is no secret that Lovato has struggled on her road to fame, and was bullied so badly at school that she had to be home-schooled when she was in the seventh grade.

In 2008 she showed up to Miley Cyrus' 16th birthday party with red marks on her wrist, fueling rumors that she was cutting herself, and those rumors flared again in 2009

Just recently Lovato was reportedly in a 'physical altercation' with a female member of her tour, which may have been a catalyst in her decision to get help.

Now she has entered the rehab treatment center, it is not known how long she will stay there, but according to the Associated Press, Lovato does have self-mutilation issues and also showed signs of having an eating disorder.

"She needed help before a smaller problem got worse," an insider tells Us. "She is doing OK."

Adds the source, "She has been forced into showbiz from a young age and that puts tremendous pressure on someone ... everyone is really happy she is getting help."

We just hope she gets better!

Demi Lovato may need help, but she's still incredible. Having been through the same thing I can understand her. My life was threatened several times, but I'm still in the school. What people don't understand is that, once you've been through so much pain like that, you just cease feeling anything. The pain you get, that she got, from cutting was better than feeling nothing at all.
