Why Huckabee?

Why Huckabee?

Mike Huckabee wins Iowa caucus…and the analysis begins.

But even before the analysis, why Huckabee?

Normal presidential factors don’t favor Huckabee. For example:

Sex appeal? My girlfriend says his teeth are crooked and no president can have crooked teeth.

Popularity? No one heard of him up until a couple of months ago. He was so unpopular that his Merry Christmas TV ad was called a cheap ploy.

Dynamic wife? Who’s Janet?

Deep pockets for campaigning? Romney out spend him by tens of millions of dollars.

Keeping his faith quiet? You kidding?! Although most presidential candidates only give lip service to their own faith, Huckabee told us how important his belief is in Jesus…we know what happened to that “guy” some 2,000 years ago, so how wise is it to associate with someone still so persecuted?! Sex Appeal :Gov. Huckabee reminds me of Gomer Pile until he opens his mouth.

Popularity:  Remember another Man from Hope AR?  Pres. Bill Clinton,  he was Unknown,  Pres. Jimmy Carter also Unknown.

Republicans do ordain the next President.  The one next in line.  This election has components Unlike past elections.  (e.g. vice president not running, Sen Bill Frist didn't get in the race, The top Candidate is a social liberal)

I think the United States has changed overnight, in that, Senator Obama won in a 96% white state.  Maybe MLK dream has come true.  Watch SC a large population of African-Americans.  Obama will not win by that high of a % here.  It is confusing, but there are psychological implications.

Why does Gov. Huckabee remind you of Gomer *Pyle*? I don't see anything that links him to that TV character--or is it that anyone from certain areas seems to be a "Gomer"? BTW, I love Nabors' singing.

I agree, the U.S. has changed. We have a black female Secretary of State, and two front-runners are a black man and a white woman. Major change. I still remember segregation and also ads in newspapers: jobs for men, jobs for women.

We're doing OK.

Mike Huckabee looks like Jim Nabors.  No mannerisms or intellectual issues were intended.  That is why I said, "until he openshis mouth."

He has a handle on healthcare, Prevetion, and personal responcibilty is the key.  He has written a book about his story of losin 100 punds.  I caught a satellite feed with him speaking to Med Students about precare issues.  The conservative media still has him as a fluke.  Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are not on his side.  He can take on Hilliarys socialized medicine better than any Republican candidate.  Hilliary would be shocked by Mikes ability to speak on the subject.

Hillary is no longer a factor...the best thing to happen for Republicans would have been for Hillary to win her party's nomination...but that ain't happenin'...Obama is a rock star!

So, now even with McCain apparently riding high now, the issue is can a Huckaboom outplay Obama Rock Star? Tough call right now.
